U.S. Veteran Immigrants Pathway to Citizenship

Hello my name is Jaime. I wanted to share some knowledge on obtaining American Citizenship if you are a U.S. Veteran. My father is a Bolivian who came to the United States as a legal immigrant. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged.  He speaks of his time in the service with such high regard and respect. He loved his time in the service. He raised two families here and opened his companies here. He returned to Bolivia in his later years. To maintain his green card status he had to come visit every 6 months. He wanted to get his U.S. Citizenship finally after all these years. We weren't sure how he could get his U.S. Citizenship. We were doing some research and my wife found that the U.S. Immigration has special programs for path to Citizenship for U.S. veterans with Honorable Discharges. If you served during times of hostility, you can be exempted from many requirements and fees. My father was able to get his Citizenship within 5 months. It was expedited and he was sworn in as a U.S. Citizen, he was extremely proud.  There are programs as well if you are active.

We did not need an attorney, we just followed instructions asked questions and they were happy to help. Yes, you do have to go to an interview but the whole process was pretty painless.

You never know what tomorrow is going to bring. Don't wait and get your citizenship as soon as you can.  You earned it!! Here is the link to get those interested started; https://www.uscis.gov/military/naturalization-through-military-service.  Please share this story and information with as many U.S. Veterans who are immigrants so they can be made aware of these programs. GOD Bless and thank you for your service!
